I am looking for an inexpensive set of 18" wheels for a narrow body 996 for mixed street & track use and came accross these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=43957 I like the look and they are very inexpensive. They are listed as fitting a 996 but the rear wheel has an offset of 48mm vice 64mm the stock wheels have. The full specs are: Featured Specifications Fits Boxster, 911,993, 996, 930, 944 Quantity Set of four Size (front) 18x8.5 Size (rear) 18x10 Condition New never been mounted Finish Silver Offset 52MM-F, 48MM-R Bolt Pattern 5x130 Includes Caps Manufactured Original equipment replica manufactured in Italy. Does anyone know if these will fit? 48MM instead of 64 means the wheels stick out 16mm further than stock, correct? Thanks! John

Wow, those are really nice! Called David Martin at Wheel Enhancement and ask him about the offset.
John Understand that Ofset (ET) means 'pushed in'.......a lower number (48) means they are 'pushed in' less (17mm less). IMHO there is nothing wrong with 48mm rear offset on a 10J rear rim for a narrowbody 996......possibly too 'aggresive' for some folks.....it's out at the fender (where personally I would put it myself). The fronts at 52 are OE (though a slight fudge cause they are 8.5J not 8.0)......personally, I'd thow at least a 7mm spacer on those fronts to get em out to 45 (or less). Good luck bud. Oh..........here's a pic of Carrera style rims spaced out 17mm on a narrowbody (hence 48mm).......on a lowered cab.
Just an FYI, but Highline Wheels is pretty well respected on the Bimmer Board. Many people have purchased replica BMW wheels from them, and have been very happy with the experience. Nice looking wheels.
Thanks for the quick response. Great to hear these wheels will fit. The picture is great GreggT - I like the look even with the fender. Are those 285/30s on your cab?
Yes.......OE 285/30.........car since has HRE's (without spacers )
