Finally found a C4, tip - its a June 29, 1999 mfg 996 - triple black Car has all service records. two owners (1st one was a leasee), and has a Heritage 5 yr extended warranty or 100k miles. Car has 33.5 miles now. Had PPI done and car needs alignment and may have coolant tank leak. Car has new top ($1900), had 30k done, brake flush, etc. and also had RMS relaced (two yr Porsche warranty) about 2000 miles ago. Car has hardtop also but it has a small 4" scratch and will need repaint. Good paint - no codes erased or evident from PI computer check, a/c is stong, car had digital sound, heated seats and 18" turbo twist chrome rims. Seller is asking $47.5 - sound fair? Most sites give it a value in the mid-50's. Also one odd problem - lug nuts have rust on them but brakes look fine, any idea why? Peter

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Rusty lug bolts (not really nuts anymore) are common. Price seems high to me, but I have not been paying much attention to 996 values these days..
Topless, I think that price is pretty close. I just bought a 1999 c4 ( aero, leather, sport seats,030, HiFi ) with 19k miles for $46,000. With the warranty it sounds lihe a good buy.
