Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just saw on eBay where they're selling the jack adapters for a buy-it-now price of $69.99 (item # 300098035879). Well folks, I had a fellow Rennlister show me his jack adapter that he got for $3.50 and it works GREAT! It's simply one of those black rubber hockey pucks and it fits right in the cupped receptacle lift point on the floor jack. The hard rubber acts as a great buffer between the steel jack cup and the car. If you want to make it more permanent, you can take a spade bit and drill out the center to recess the head of a bolt, then bolt the hockey puck into the jack plate receptacle. I just lay the puck in the cupped jack plate. No more marks or dings in your jack points. You can also take the spade bit and drill a 1 1/2 inch recess in the center of the hockey puck and that will accomodate the nub on the engine mid point where a lot of guys choose to lift both rear wheels at once. I can probably do a group buy on these for $2.00

Hi Chuck, How did the 996 turn out? Do you like the new wheel center caps? I just picked up my new EVO intake yesterday and installed it today. It sounds a little more civilized then the first generation. The good news is..no more surge or CEL. I sure appreciated you introducing me to your paint guy. That was a great price to fix the paint on wifey's SL. I'll try to refrain from buying anymore toys for mine until I fix hers. If you buy any of those pucks, please get one for me and I'll pay you next time I see you. Thanks for the referral on the wheels, unfortunately, he wanted tires. I appreciate you thinking of me. I need to list them in the classified section. I really enjoyed the ride in the 930....what an incredible car. I'm trying to get an appointment out your way with our favorite Doc. I'll call you and hopefully we can get together again. Take care, Mark.

Mark: Au contrare'....my thanks to you for those great looking center caps. I have the others for you when we get back together. How about lunch this week sometime? My buy. I'll pick up some of those hockey pucks...for you a special deal!! Really glad you chased down that CEL issue...and with the new EVO CAI, I don't think you'll have any more problems. I don't care what the nay-sayers say...I think the CAI in combo with some of the other mods makes the car friskier....I have the garage make-over almost complete...love the new look and all the additional room. I'm back to seriously thinking about a scissors lift. That way we could put together some local fix-it days with Loren from RennTech. Let's get together ASAP.... chuck

POST 4Original post

Chuck, I'll call you tomorrow to arrange lunch. Check out Sharkey's thread on this forum....notice he hasn't supercharged it yet? I think if I do the chip and plenum (and suspension), I'll be happy. There is a used Evo supercharger listed today in the member to member classifieds. He is upgrading to a turbo. Go figure. I think our non e-gas cars respond well to weight reduction and a few bolt-ons....project "White Shark" appears to bear this out. This mod bug is addictive. It's difficult sometimes to be content with what we have.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mark: You'd better go see someone about your "addiction". I've got to quit hanging around with you...I think the addiction is contagious! For me, the desire for the supercharger has passed...but the allure of jumping up to a twin turbo looms large on the horizon. That's why I don't want to do any more mods....just money I could put towards the turbo. BUT....will it end there? Most likely not.

POST 6Original post

I bought four of those hockey pucks in Jackson, Wyoming in November (seasonal devices) for $1 each.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dan: Why don't you take over the group buy for me!

"hockey puck" mod. This thread is useless without pics... In Florida...
