Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

What is the best dealer for service & warranty work in the DC area? Are there any which are OK with taking the car to the track? I plan on buying a new 996, but not from a local dealer, since none have the spec I want. Some of my choices include: HBL Porsche of Arlington Rockville Porsche If none of them are good, I could go further afield, and include NYC in my field. Thanks

Porsche of Arlington is OK with track use, and they even do free PCA track inspections. Stay away from HBL, whatever you do! =Carlos=

Stuttgart Services of Williamsburg [phone removed]) is where I take my car. It's by far better than anything in DC. Robert Lynch, the owner, has 30 years of experience fixing Porsches - and that's the only kind of car they service. I don't trust my car with anyone else. (BTW, I'm not affiliated with Stuttgart Services in any way.) Mark

Here's the link to Stuttart Services: http://www.stuttgartservice.com/ A good place actually in the DC area is Autothority at: http://www.autothority.com/ (Autothority would be my second choice.) I hope this helps. Mark

POST 5Original post

another good place is IMA - smaller shop that really supports track work. Chris Prack lurks these lists, too. IMA Motorsport [phone removed] 2928C Prosperity Ave. Fairfax, VA 22031 Ivan Arzola/Chris Prack

For warranty work, you're stuck with a dealer. I agree with Carlos, Arlington has a good attitude towards tracking Porsches and HBL is just the opposite. Although, I bought 3 cars from HBL, I will not take them there for service. I may give Rockville a try, since it's close to where I work. Ticher is another possibility. I don't have direct experience but they sponsor an annual DE inspection event and seem to try to cater to the track junkies. Karl
