Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I might be crazy, but, I sold the 951 track car last month and sold my '05 S4 last week and got this: 2000 996 41K miles 413 18" Turbo look wheels 424 Automatic heating control 436 3-Spoke steering wheel 490 Hi-Fi sound system 939 Soft leather rear 982 Supple Leather Seats/Trim ??? Suede Headliner Ultra Shield, Factory Aero Kit, and no PSM! Please tell me I'm not stupid!

POST 2Original post

The S4 is a hell of a vehicle but I think you will be very happy with the 996. That is a lot of black!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I loved the S4. However, gas milage sucked (13mpg average) and the 996 is almost identical in speed. I needed something for daily use and track use since I consolidated and the S4 was kind of a pig on the track. I'm not sure I like the wheels yet - they may be getting some track tires and I may be getting something different for the street. Just call me Michael Knight!

POST 5Original post

Dont know about the 951 but the letting the S4 go is a great decision, and the 996 is the best decision of all. Good looking car and congrats on the new ride. Yeah, no PSM baby!!!

POST 6Original post

Yes it is. My daily driver is an 05 S4, I'm keeping it and buy a 02 C4S.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes I will miss the torque monster! It was my 3rd Audi since 2000 so I was ready for a change. I might have an occasional quattro withdrawl! Now the 951, I missed it the minute is was picked up. The 996 won't come close to it on the track.

POST 8Original post

Excellent! Nice car. You will enjoy it, but I have a point of very deep concern. Your garage is far too neat and organized. It's disturbing.

POST 9Original post

Badass looking car! Can I ask how you paid for everything?

POST 10Original post

Geoff, Welcome! The car is gorgeous - it reminds me of mine, except that I have stock 17" wheels. But man, I am blown away by those black 18s. They look amazing! The 911 is being touched up, so I'm driving, of all things, an '05 S4 today. It's okay, but the steering is questionable, and the last time I did this, I felt right back at home when I hopped in the 911. It feels like you're coming from an SUV Best, Justin

POST 11Original post

Welcome Geoff, If you miss your 951 too much I have one I need to sell. Don't be so sure about your 996 not being close on the track though. You might be surprised. Jim

POST 12Original post

Sweet car. Black, Black and more Black. Pretty bad-***. Surely you will enjoy!

POST 15Original post

Love that black on black!! You will enjoy the 996!!

POST 16Original post

POST 18Original post

Lookin' good...I think you made a fine decision.
