Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I searching my option codes I found the following cryptic code and I'm hoping that someone can help me understand what it means. Code 09991: Manufacture from the exclusive program. Probably not as interesting as it sounds, but it would be good to know.

POST 2Original post

It means that there is at least one option on your car that was ordered from the Exclusive Programme. You would have to go thru the rest of your codes to determine which option(s) is refers to, or perhaps order a COA, or ask your dealer to verify vehicle configuration thru eDCS.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Interesting. Thanks for the help. I guess it would probably be the carbon fiber gearshift and handbrake. My car is a little puzzling. I checked out some of the option codes and not all of them seem to be present on the car, for example, CD changer, colored wheel crests (mine are black), among others. I've also been told twice now that the details that are pulled up on the database by the VIN number also do not correspond to the car (they correspond to a grey interior, not black). I'm not quite sure how this happened, but I'm guessing that it makes a COA a little meaningless if Porsche didn't get the car entered into it's database correctly before it left the factory. The deviations from the car sticker I can rationalize, as I know that the hi-fi was upgraded to an Alpine, among other things by the previous owner. The colored wheel crests don't look as good as black on a white car. The thing I don't get is why the Porsche database would be wrong. I spoke with my dealer about it and he said that my car has way more options on it than is listed in the database and the interior color is incorrect (which means that every time I order an interior part it arrives in grey and not black!). They said that this happens occasionally and Porsche refuses to correct it after the car leaves the factory. I wonder how common that is.

POST 4Original post

I have three option codes that the 'DECODER' can not decipher. They are: 448, 698, and 938 Is there any other DECODER than the one listed on www.kindel.com/porsche/options.asp ?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Believe it or not, this one is a little more complete. I noticed that the one you tried didn't have some of my options. http://registry.rennlist.com/optioncode/optioncode.asp Although, I've just punched in your codes and they didn't show in here either.

POST 6Original post

Dang that's handy. Most of the option codes are defined. Thanks for the link!

POST 7Original post

I have never heard of the PAG database being incorrect, especially to the extent you mentioned. Some options can be installed/added post manufacture by a Porsche dealer (authorized Tequipment items, etc) and these will not show up in a COA, but they should be entered into the PCNA database, in order to allow for full warranty coverage. Something does not sound correct in your dealer's reply.

POST 9Original post

Thanks, now I just need to find out what the 448 and 938 mean. Maybe PSM and 'previous owner sold the wind deflector and second key remote on Ebay'!

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, both the dealer I bought the car from and the Porsche dealer I go to for maintenance said the same thing, so the story is consistent. It's clear the the database entry on my car is severely messed up, as the interior is black and not grey as the database claims. The only logical way that happened is at the factory. Unfortunately there seems to be no way to have the entries corrected (unless someone here knows of a way) -O

POST 11Original post

POST 13Original post

Jason - thanks for your hlep. I was wondering if that was a factory kit or not. Those 18's seemed to disappear along the way though.... thats ok just put on 997s wheels anyway.
