Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

All are welcome to come. I'll be helping a fellow member (vulture) install H&R springs on his 996 this Sunday morning at my house. We'll get started around 8:00 and hope to be done by noon. I'm in Columbia, MD He's in charge of fat pills and coffee. PM for directions

POST 2Original post

Thanks 87turbolook911 This is a good chance to see the 996 suspension and how to do the spring swap for anyone interested

POST 4Original post

POST 5Original post

Its that that hard of a job if you have the right tools. Go do a search on this forum as I and others have done some instuctional write ups. edit: Opps I ment to say its not that hard

POST 6Original post

This is a very simple DIY. I'll be there to watch since Vu knows exactly what to do.

POST 7Original post

OH man I can NOT believe I missed this. I live 15 minutes from Columbia and I just registered today. I have been trying to find out how hard this was to do. I was told by one guy I met at an autocross that it was really easy and I really wanted to see someone do it before I screwed up my 996 (plus i dont have a lot of space in my driveway). Do you need a spring compressor to install the springs? How long did it take you guys? Thanks for your help!!!!!

POST 8Original post

He was right, it is an easy install, as easy as a muffler swap. No spring compressor is needed, nor alot of space. There is a great DYI tutorial on rentech.org. Took about an hour a spring and the results are great.

POST 9Original post

Thats awesome, I just checked out the renntech site, that is an awesome write up. It looks pretty doable. Thanks for your help. IF Anyone in maryland wants to help me that would be perfect!
