Do both driver and passenger side mirrors auto dim or driver side only? auto-dimming + aspheric gets pretty expensive. i am thinking this: driver side: standard glass WITH auto-dimming passenger side: aspheric glass WITHOUT auto-dimming or should i get both driver and passenger sides autodimming?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have 3 cars and have all the combos: Porsche 911: no auto dim mirrors anywhere MB E430: only rear view and drivers side mirrors auto dim Audi allroad: rear and both side mirrors auto dim My $0.02 is that an auto dimming rear mirror is most valuable. I am dazzled all the time from behind in the Pcar. It's actually not that big a deal to have auto dimming side mirrors because the side mirrors are further from you eyes, smaller, and car headlights tend not to linger in your side mirrors. That being said, if you were to get only 1 auto dimming side mirror, get it on the driver side, the passenger side mirror is so far away that any benefit is marginal at best, and not really worth the cost.
yep thanks, thats what i was thinking passenger side mirror doesn't blind you as much. but last night i was at the stop light and had a huge 4x4 behind me with his headlight pointing directly at my driver side mirror. not sure if i want aspheric mirrors for driver side anyways, but definately want it for passenger side.
