Hey guys my Becker unit keeps killing my battery so I was trying to replace with a Kenwood and retain the factory amp and speakers bc they sound great. I bought the harnesses and got everything wired up but my yellow connector in the set of 3 for the cd player amp and phone only has one wire in it. All the examples I have seen have I think 7. I only have the power wire. No speaker positives or shared ground. I have the amp in the front along with all the Bose badges. I thought about connecting the speakers through the brown connector as that is how it has to be getting there but didnt want to damage anything sending amplified signal to the amp.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You are on the right track in connecting them through the brown speaker wiring harness. I just went through this in spring trying to figure out what the PO did because my rear speakers weren’t working. PO had a line level converter installed. I called Rod at Car Audio Innovations based on recommendations read here and he helped me get it straightened out, basically he told me to get rid of the converter and wire directly through the speaker wiring harness, everything works great now. For reference, I have a Sony head unit and everything else is the Factory Bose system. I’ve since upgraded dash and rear speakers too.
If it's a factory Bose system, the speakers are normally driven by the Bose amp, not directly from the head unit. I definitely wouldn't send the Kenwood's amplified speaker outputs into the factory amp since that's asking for trouble. It almost sounds like your car may be wired a little differently than the diagrams you've found. I'd do

What head units are you folks putting in? I have '04 C4S, CD thing in frunk missing, the standard Bose (?) HU, and speakers. The HU (radio?) will turn off by itself, and always has a CD -Missing error page screen. I rarely listen to it, bc car has been almost continuous in repair/refurb process and have only driven it a couple of times- once to get it home, the other to go to a shop. So curious what HU (or other) options are out there to get something that can do FM, USB stick (MP3 stuff), speakers, and "optional" GPS. Comments? YMMV
my harness has all the wires in the brown connector that the radio says is the speaker outputs. I would assume those are amplified sources from the Becker radio. There is only one wire and its the power wire in my yellow connector.
Do you think it would be ok to wire my speakers to the brown harness and power the app?
