Hey a random question- with the cdr23 doesn't this unit play mp3's in the in dash? Also can you hook it up via the internal amp like normal in a pre most system and not use the most hookup assuming you don't use a cd changer??? It seems that you can without issue as the base connectors are the same????

I don't recall my manual saying anything about MP3's, and I would be surprised since the technology didn't get big until 2004-2005. I have an '03.

1) Mp3s. I have an 03 Boxster on my lot with a CDR23 and I can guarantee it doesn't play mp3s. I'm fairly (ie not 100%, but a solid 90) that none of the cdr23 models play mp3s. 2) The MOST system isnt just for cd changers, it's the interface that connects the head unit to the amplifier for the stereo. It definately wont work with a pre-MOST car. And furthermore I dont understand why you'd try to, I cant stand that head unit, I much prefer the CDR220, and if you were to upgrade it'd make much more sense to upgrade to an aftermarket solution.
