Hello everyone, I am looking to buy my first p-car with Tiptronic transmission. I love the look of C4S and found a late '04 model with only 6K miles on it. It has almost 3 years of factory warranty remaining. The car is quite loaded with all the options that I want, including navigation, cd changer, high end sound, and xenon highlamps. The price including shipping (from west coat) will be around $75K. I also found a '06 997S Tiptronic in a local dealer (in east cost) with around 6K miles on it and is fully loaded for about $10K more. I think I like the body shape of the C4S better but don't mind the newer technology of the 997S. I only plan to drive the car in good weather so I am indifferent about AWS. Is it worth the extra $10K to get the '06 997S. I think I'd be quite happy with the C4S, being this is my first p-car. I plan to keep this car for a few years at least. Any advise? Thanks.

I have a 2004 C4S and I love it. Unless you have a physical disability which precludes a manual transmission, I highly advise against it. Resale value is impacted and you will be missing a very important aspect of the car.
I would think for 85k, and 10k miles you could get a bit better deal than that on the 997. I don't know that you could go wrong either way. Both cars are outstanding. If it were me I would probably go with the 997. I like the styling much better personally.
Snoop, Have you every considered a used 996T? It may not have all the bells and whistles you are looking for but the fun factor cannot compare to a N/A engine.
For only a $10k difference, I'd take the 997 because of the added performance alone. Aben is right about a Turbo. Once you drive one, you can't get excited about the standard cars again
Turbo!!
Snoopy - I would get the 997. Why do you want to get a Tip? Like Captain Tal said, "you will be missing a very important aspect of the car."
