Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was down in the frigid south with Mike. This was his first trip to the old bomber base. But he took to it right away. While he wasn't in his 996, he was DEing his other P-car, a race prepped 944TS By Sunday he did a 2:37, and regularly was in 2:40 range when he had a clear lap. BTW, a 37 would put him well into the E class grid. The man was motoring. Perhaps having Randy Pobst in the right seat for a session helped. Way to go Mike

POST 2Original post

Sebring is a handful to learn with 17 turns and quite technical. If it had elevation changes, it would be world class. I'm sure having Pobst coaching will prove to be a great move even at other tracks since I would think he teaches techniques as well as the track layout. This brings home my advice to always have continuing coaching. Even though I am a PCA instructor, I hired a local "hot shoe" to ride with me and it made quite a difference, lowering my lap time at Homestead by almost 2 seconds on the first weekend. And since I have been working on his techniques, I have been continually improving. DE is about continuing education, even at the highest levels.

POST 3Original post

The Big Turtle is far too kind, and he failed to mention a few of my peccadillos, most notably a spin on the yellow lap my first time around the track. Talk about feeling like a moron... The event was great, and the folks at Midwest Eurosport were good enough to have Randy Pobst hang around our the trailer for two days. Randy is a great guy, and actually went so far as to register for the DE so that he could do a thirty minute session in the car with me. That sort of coaching is invaluable, and really allowed me to improve over the weekend. Can't say enough about it. The Big Turtle had a pretty good weekend himself, as did Chuck Reiter in his first club race. All in all, a wonderful, if rather chilly, experience.

I wonder if Eric would be willing to take Pobst on as HWFM Assistant Chief Driving Instructor?
