I'm running Goodyear Ultragrip GW3 tires and was spectacularly impressed by how the tires performed yesterday night when driving back to the city from the country. The roads were covered in snow, slush and ice and the tires were champs. They were absolutely NOT like the summer Contis that left me stranded during a surprise storm last winter (what was I even thinking? ). I had no problems pulling with authority, going up hills from a stop was easy, and the car tracked very well on the snow-covered highway. Frankly, the tires were pretty confidence inspiring. Of course, it's worth saying that they aren't as rigid on a dry highway as my summer tires. The sidewalls feel softer and the tread definitely does not track as precisely at speed or in turns considering the winter rubber compound. But, given the record snowfall in the city, they have already made the purchase worthwhile. I was keeping up with big SUVs with authority. I can happily recommend them to my fellow Rennlisters, though do bear in mind that I haven't driven the Dunlop Wintersport M3 tires (the other one I was considering) so I can't compare one to the other. Anyway, just thought to share my happiness at not being stranded again. How did the rest of you fare yesterday and this morning?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I agree I have been raving about these winter tires since my first set a few years ago, Its amazing how good these tires do both as a winter tire and a pretty good performance tire. There is cheaper but not better, that I know for sure...110%
P 240 winter sports, no problems this am, except my aerolip functioning as a plow!
My Dunlop Winter M2's worked perfectly.
rob - how many miles do you average on your m2s?
The best was at 6am, 23 degrees today, going on the backroads around Roslyn, a sharp uphill and behold a MB 4matic and an suv stuck, just drove around them. The look on their faces was priceless.
P240s here. Work great
I usually put them on in December and leave them on until April. I average about 2000 miles a month so that's about 8000 miles. I just purchased 18" rims and Dunlops but prior I had 17" rims and M2's that I bought in 2001 and they have about 24,000 miles on them with about 70% tread left. Rob
