Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Evenin' all; just a quick intro to say I've been reading Rennlist for 1-2 years and I reckon the quality of info and debate is superb. Upgraded my MY03 986S to a MY04 996 yesterday and am lovin' it already. i will post a pic soon as i learn how to compress one, an avatar soon as I find out how to create one and mods soon as i get some! Cheers

TragaGP - Welcome to the best Porsche forum on the net. The link below will allow you to re-size your pics. http://www.resize2mail.com/ Looking forward to seeing pics of your P-car.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks to Tim for the resize info. I've had the Targa (pic attached, i think!) five days and 270 miles; the sliding roof has been the perfect solution that avoids the noise at high speeds i experienced in the BoxS & yet lets in the sunlight so there is a cab feel. I've already ordered a Porsche short shifter, cos I've found the OEM 996 stick surprisingly floppy. Next mod will be either a PSE or a set of 18in Techno wheels (not both!). Which should i go for? These items cost an equal amount in this country. Basalt Black manual MY04 996 Targa (full leather, 18in Carreras, Litronics, Bose, PCM satnav, park assist, rear spoiler, 'love those' side skirts) Sept 05 Seal Grey manual MY03 986 Boxster S (full leather, 18in Carreras, Litronics, Bose sound, CD/MD changer) Feb 04-Sept 05

Targa - You are very welcome. I would get the PSE rather than the wheels. I like your Classics. You will "hear" the PSE's whenever you are driving it. You will only "see" the Techno wheels when you are NOT driving it. As enjoyable as these cars are to look at, they are even more enjoyable to drive.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Gota911, when you put it that way it's a no-brainer! I noticed on another thread that someone had been on a PDE 'Masters'? what is that? I did the basic Porsche Driving Experience last year, really got to know my Boxster properly; these are awesome cars

POST 8Original post

I'd opt for some CF shift **** and handbrake. I'd leave your wheels as is. They are nice looking and very light. As for PSE, if you like more noise, it's a good mod. Just don't expect any HP though.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks again guys. Changing the subject, it's the 50th anniversary of James Dean's death; any informed opinions on the whereabouts of his 550 Spyder? or is that a question for the Boxster forum?
