On my way home tonight a Lambo Countach (QV I believe) pulled out of a driveway near my house behind me. I pulled over hoping he would stop as well, but he waved and went by. I followed behind and we came up to a stop sign, both of us turning right. He rev'd her up and dropped the hammer. I took off in chase. Half way through 2nd gear I had to back off before rear-ending the Lambo. I am so disappointed! I had a thousand posters of Countach's all over my bedroom wall growing up. I don't think he was good at shifting her, but either way, it was not nearly as quick as it was in my teenage dreams. It was not a kit, as I've seen several and this looked in very good, original shape. My childhood dream car is ruined!!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The did a segment on that on Top Gear a few weeks ago. The Lambos look hot, but they are slow, noisy, smelly and uncomfortable, not to mention unreliable. The guys on the show had the same "boyhood dream ruined" reaction.
The HP wars of the past 10 years has ruined a lot of car dreams. Next to my TT, a 1967 big block Corvette is now a slow pig. Can't buy a Ferrari because anything I could afford (308, 348, 355, 360) would be too damn slow. Even 4 door sedans can whip a 355's ***.....how depressing
u know what they say..you never meet your hero's...
Lee, I saw the same thing and remember back to my childhood days....2 posters on my walls. One of a Lambo Countach and one of a slant-nose 930! I felt the same thing when I saw that episode of top gear The only difference is that I would drive a 930 in a heartbeat but not the lambo. As Jeremy said, all show and no go for the lambo!
So true. I had a lesser aspiration. My dream car was a RX7 TT. I bought it 5 yrs ago and still think it's an awesome car. It's about as fast as a 996 NA but even more fun since it's lower and lighter. My 996 now does have rear seats and a much nicer ride though
I'm so lucky my dream car was a 911 Actually I'm still looking to purchase a 911 circa 1977. Rob
I also bought a RX-7 TT and it was so much fun besides being very unreliable. I sold it to a someone that works next door to me and he has since had the engine rebuilt. Still a neat car but not a Porsche. Sometimes it seems like the RX-7 was faster but I think it was because of the sound.
