Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My '99C4 does not have the trip computer, but someone told me that all of the guts are there to activate the outside temperature guage. Does anyone know if this is possible?

POST 2Original post

It is with the PST2/PIWIS tester. But you cannot turn it on yourself.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So can the dealer do it for me?

POST 4Original post

Yes the dealer can do it as well as set you locks to autolocks to lock at 5 mph there were a few things they could set up I don't remember all of them. Someone has a list on the board...I was a lot more active here 4 years ago when I got the car.

POST 5Original post

OBC Auto Locks (several options) Side Mirror Tilt in Reverse

POST 6Original post

TCR - The car in your photo looks strangely like a 993 C2, not a 996 C4 Cab - what gives?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What on earth are you talking about? The car in my avitar photo looks like a dog!

POST 8Original post

Wait a minute, you guys are saying I can make my 99 C2 door locks "auto lock" and tilt side mirror in reverse???? Is that what you are saying? WHo has done this?? (My wheels will thank you)

POST 9Original post

Yup! But it has to be done by the dealer (or anybody with a PST2).

POST 10Original post

Takes the dealer about 5 minutes to do. I've heard shops with laptop version of PST2 are unable to duplicate the procedure. One actually needs the original PST2.

POST 11Original post

I don't have a trip computer but I do get the outside temp on my digital gauge.

POST 12Original post

hi all, need to ask something: what is 1. OBC ? 2. Side Mirror Tilt in Reverse in a manual car? thought this can be done only in aytomatic. thanks

POST 13Original post

Not true... I have seen it done with a laptop PST2. The only thing independent shops can not do is program ignition keys. And, that is because you have to call and get a code from Porsche for each new key.
