Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been driving the car at around 3-4k rpm lately. Sometimes when stop at the stop sign and then hit the gas, there will be a cloud of white (slightly greyish) smoke come out from the exhaust. Something wrong with the engine?

POST 2Original post

No clue, but I recall reading a similar post in the past week or so talking about white smoke at low rpms...you may want to search the forum. Hope it helps.

POST 3Original post

By the way, you should drop the $17 on membership. It is a very informative forum and goes to keeping it available to all of us that need HELP!

POST 4Original post

Does this happen when you are driving in the morning only? Where do you live? With fall coming, the colder air at night and morning can be the cause of white smoke. Otherwise, keep monitoring your coolant level.

POST 5Original post

I had a similar problem on start-up and while it ended up not being the actual problem, Porsche strongly suspected a bad oil separator based on the white smoke at startup...

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It didn't just happened on start up. I had it happened after a few 4000rpm low gear runs as well. It doesn't do it continuously. It usually just blow a patch of white smoke and no more. Is it normal?

POST 7Original post

I wonder if oil is sprayed into engine to cool it, thus the smoke you see. I've not had this problem myself.
