Is there a way to find out what the original build specifications for a car were? I am looking at a 2003 911 and was wondering if I could get the original build. Thanks

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You can get a vin decoder that will give you the factory build. Suncoast sells it for $10 or so. It seems like Renntech membership gets it too.
Look at the option code sticker under the front trunk lid or in the front page of the original owners manual. Codes: http://stuttcars.com/technical/option-codes/996/ http://www.lufteknic.com/info/996_codes.html
My local Porsche dealer has been able to give me a list of options and their prices on both an '01 and an '06. They just need the VIN. They were also able to give some early history of the cars such as order date, in-service date, etc. Then there is the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity that can be obtained showing options, etc.
There's a sticker in the underhood place You can read VIN, type, model, engine code, transmission code, exterior color code, interior trim code, and all the optionals. Besides there's another sticker similar in the maintenance booklet. If you missed them, or the car bonnet was repainted I can do them for you.
Does anybody know what 09981, 00501 and 23571 codes mean please? Someone asked for me to reproduce it and we can't find the codes
