Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone with experience installing this trim? Suggests 'professional' installation. Does it require deconstruction of the dash or does it just fit over the existing trim? Is this good pricing? http://www.suncoastparts.com/product..._Code=996TTINT Thanks

POST 2Original post

no its more involved than you think, not a major job,the originals are mounted with screws. go to renntech and search, there is a i believe instructions with photos.....good luck

POST 3Original post

Try ebay, you can often find it much cheaper install is as described above, a little tricky, or easy if you decide to break the existing trim and/or drill out the retaining screws Lots of instructions online on how to do it

POST 4Original post

$20 gets you more than enough vinyl wrap to cover the existing trim. I plan on doing mine in the near future since I just vinyl wrapped my center console and radio trim to hide the peeling and scratched paint underneath.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for the responses. i'll search for some how-to's. is it a good quality piece? seems like it is.

POST 6Original post

I did this install myself many years ago. It's not that hard if you take your time. Here's my post on renntech of my DIY: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...o-pic/?p=72154

POST 7Original post

Wow $250 for a strip of aluminum! Hurdi, get in here and tell him to get those chrome self stick door moldings from Pep Boys for $10.

POST 8Original post

I removed my trim pieces and painted them silver. Getting to the small allen screws on the back of the trim pieces was kind of a pain, but do-able. There's a DIY for it somewhere. (either here on on Renntech)
