Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, my new to me 1999 996 needs new tires and I've done some searching but want to confirm the following: Front: 18x7.5 will get 235/40/18 Rear: 18x10 will get 285/35/18 Is this about right? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

I have the same size wheels and went with 225x40 and 295x30 and the fit looks good.

POST 3Original post

225/40-18 and 285/30-18 is the factory recommendation in the owner's manual and what I run (although my '02 has 8" wide fronts, the rear is the same)

POST 4Original post

The 18" option for the narrow body cars from 99-01 was 225/40 and 265/35. For the Mk2 the front remained the same but the back changed to 285/30.

POST 5Original post

Are you looking at keeping OEM sizing? The door of your vehicle and owners manual will never lie. If no there is a lot of sizing that will work in your application

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
