Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm posting that for a friend Hi, since last year, when going at the track, a very annoying noise occurs when cornering. I installed a Quaffe LSD last winter, At first, I tought it was that but now i'm not sure. I removed it and there's no sign of wear, and nothing in the oil. Is it possible this type of helical LSD could make this noise ? i dont think so Here's is the link http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/P...l-6-Speed.html Could worn suspension/engine/transmission bushings cause that sound? If anyone have suggestions on what would be the cause of this noise, let me know & thanks in advance! -The car is a 2002 996 Carrera C2S Targa, tires 245/40/18 front and 315/30/18 rear. -It seems to happen in any gear (2 to 4), and especially exiting corners. -Seems to be independant of engine RPM and side, left turn or right turn -I can reproduce the sound in a parking lot in first gear. -The sound seems to come from behind the car, in the engine bay area. -I tried removing the ABS fuse, thinking it might be the culprit, but the noise is still there. Here is a video of me on the track, you can ear it clearly in corner. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=APp_9nnb9d0

Have you thought about looking at the sway bar connections? Drop links? Sway bar bushings?
