Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone tried installing just the low temp stat.? Not bought housing and all just the t-stat and the installation tool? Just curious if I can do it easily and save the ~$60.

POST 2Original post

Yes it is totally do-able and many have done it. You can make a tool pretty easily, here is a thread: http://986forum.com/forums/general-d...tat-print.html I remember reading something though about the housing, there was some reason why you might want to consider not to use the old one. But I doubt you would encounter any issues doing so.

POST 3Original post

Yes, it's very easy. Definitely an easy way to save some cash. I'd offer to ship you the tool if you cover the charges, but realistically the tool is so cheap it's probably not worth it. -Shawn

Could you do me a favor and post pics and quick dimensions of the tool. I am going to make my own. Thanks

POST 5Original post

Sure. Unfortunately I didn't see this until this morning. I'll measure it tonight and PM you the dimensions. -Shawn
