Tried to search this topic but had no luck unfortunately. My transmitter stopped working on my '03 996 Targa (still can unlock/start the car with the key - remote buttons don't work) and I'm looking for a new remote. I was able to find 2 button 996 transmitter and 3 button 986 Boxster transmitter. Does anyone know if 986 transmitter will work on 996? Thanks!
The key fobs with buttons have to be coded to the vehicle. You need to key fob code (piece of paper with code on it) to have the dealer/independent code the fob to the vehicle.
