Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a leak near a connector on the passenger side of the trans. This is a ZF trans in the 1999 996s. I know there is the replacement part in the later Mercedes tiptronic. Is there a seal or replacement part to fix this. I tried to take good pictures but it was tough. Thanks Joey

POST 2Original post

There is a revised clamp part: 986 397 018 01 Also, two O-rings that are used: 986 397 017 00

Does the clamp just hold the connector in place? Remove the clamp and I can change out the 2 O rings? These is not much room up there. Thanks again Joey
