Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My car is finally close to completion after some drawn out repairs, but some hurdles have popped up. One obstacle is that frame for the socket in the A-pillar, where the door loom connects, no longer has the threaded part the connnector screws on to. There is supposed to be a hexagonal white threaded insert in a hole at the bottom of the frame. This insert is missing and as a result I'm unable to secure the plug to the A-pillar. . I've looked through the PETs but have not found this piece. Does anyone know if it has a part number?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This is the broken insert. The inset has been pulled out and then smashed. This is how it is supposed to be in the socket frame on the A-pillar.

POST 3Original post

Both sides of mine r shot too. Luckily the boot seems to stay in place for the most part. Im gonna try a plastic screw anchor or even a liscence plate screw anchor. Time to get creative.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This is speculation, but it could be this one. It is 999 507 649 40. It is on the same page in the PET as the connector itself. I came up with a 3D printed design I'm going to try. I haven't test fitted it yet.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll share the file if it works. I'm in Norway, so you'll have to get someone local to print them for you.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just got one from the dealer. The part number is 999 507 649 40. I paid $1.6 for it.
