Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ive got to remove my fab speed X pipe and temporary replace it with my stock cats in order to pass smog here in California. Does anyone have any advice on getting these sleeves to slide out of the way. Ive tried prying the tabs open at the ends and hammering on them. They are just stuck.

POST 2Original post

most likely have to remove your muffler, I always remove rear wheels and then the 3 nuts holding the muffler to the bracket, leave the tips attached to the mufflers. slide out of union and then thru wheel opening.

POST 3Original post

I take off the bumper, heat shield and airbox (to access the R side O₂ sensors). Remove the bolts on the brackets to center engine mount and spread the brackets past the lip and then unbolt from the headers and exhaust. Easy-peasy, should be about 2 hrs all in.

Victory - but as a first time tackling this on this car it took me about 5 hours. Now I can see the path and it should only take a couple hours. Def helps to take off the bumper.

Bill - do you ever offer anything constructive or do you just troll every post looking for ways to add flip remarks and brag that you got your roller for only $4k? (oh yeah, I forgot, that's in every post you make...)
