Looking at a car that was hit in the drivers door and left rear quarter. Seller got the car from an estate sale and the seller has no receipts or records for the repairs however the photos appear decent. The damage, according to the seller, also involved deformation of the door frame area...again from looking at the pictures it "seems" to be repaired. The car is not near me so I would have to get someone else to look at it. This is a 96 C2. just under 60k miles. I am looking at a worst case scenario. If I buy it and the car is actually a basket case under the skin and basically unsafe to drive, what would be the parting out value? Engine/trans (6 spd) interior 17" rims doors, front fenders and hood, right rear panel, bumpers, glass, mirrors, all the other pieces...electronics, brakes, steering box, suspension, etc. I'm not including the left rear quarter panel because I don't know how well it has been repaired. Your thoughts please. Also, anyone in the Salem Oregon area who would be willing to look at it for me or recommendations to get a PPI in Salem. John Ireland [phone removed]

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Sorry, do you mean the car is a 996 or a '96 993? Your post says 96 C2...

Hi...its a 96 993 c2. I'm asking here in the 996 section as well as the 993 forum since a lot of folks here have both models and know prices. I have a 996 currently.
Personally, $0. Look into what it will entail to get it registered and insured in your state.
Hi all...no more input needed, I've talked with a guy who knows the car and its history. I'm passing on it.
