Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Long time lurker... just bought a '02 996 C2 as a fun street / track toy. I picked up the car in Dallas (~3 hours away for me) last weekend. Also stopped by RAC (pics coming) to see what they were working on. I highly recommend them for service work in the Dallas area. I was very satisfied with the PPI that they did. Guards Red, deviated stitching, xenon, and more. It has most options that I would have picked and seems to be in great mechanical shape. A few cosmetic bits need to be replaced that will cost a couple hundred bucks. I'm planning on doing IMS, oil sump/pan baffle, and maybe AOS next oil change. Thanks in advance for the help guys. I already have a few questions lined up! Doing my best to filter those that have already been answered. There is a lot of info out there now that 996s are getting close to 20 years old.

Beautiful 996! Welcome. Thanks for the great pics.

POST 7Original post

Beautiful C2, looks like a very nice purchase. Congrats.

POST 10Original post

Car looks great and paint looks pristine in photos. If you're going to track it I would invest in a full frontal PPF. Nice car!

POST 11Original post

Nice pull! Plus, you got the extra 25 hp that the factory packs into every Guards Red car, so you got that going for you. The deviated stitching with Guards Red and black looks incredible. I wish I had that gearshift **** in my car - don't ever get the bright idea to mod it as that's the best shift **** ever.

Yeah the E93 M3 is the wife's daily driver. It's pretty heavy at ~4000 pounds but is still a lot of fun to drive. 2x fun with the top down lol.

Thanks! Guards red powerkit plus x51 must be really fast! I was planning on getting the CAE black anodized shifter with red ****

POST 15Original post

That red still has depth and shine to it! I like! -Jason
