Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there a way to have just a blank screen instead of the word OFF displayed when everything is turned off? Thanks, Ralph

POST 3Original post

Or this? If you leave the car off it doesn't show up! The true response...no. Or you could pull the fuse for the HVAC system. Not sure why that bugs you....

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Darn it... Even the newer models?

That was my thought, but I was too lazy to go find a pic. Thanks! Ahh, the KK approach I get it. When things are off they should be off. They don't need to keep telling me they are off. It's an OCD thing

It's less annoying (because it's smaller and not directly in the line of sight), but but 2013 Cayenne still does it too.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

during the day, not so bad but @ night different story... Still love my guy though...

POST 8Original post

I thought I read somewhere that it was not recommended leaving the fan off for too long. I think it has something to do with mold or mildew. Maybe that's why they have "Off" displayed rather prominently.

POST 9Original post

How about if you dim your dashboard lights all the way down? Another thought, not sure how practical, but you could intercept the power to the display unit and put in a rocker switch on the center console to turn it off and on.

POST 10Original post

Polarized sunglasses, tilt your head 40 degrees clockwise.

Depending on how brute-force you want to go/how much this really bothers you, you could add a switch to the wiring harness for the HVAC control unit to physically cut power to the unit...

POST 13Original post

Personally, I leave it one notch up from "off" and find that much less annoying
