Is the resale value of a Tip any different than 6 speed? I am ordering '02 Cab and am debating which transmission. Not that I am buying the car to sell it, but I find advantages to each trans. and can't decide which to order.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I don't have any first hand information, but my dealer always told me that Tips were more difficult to sell on resale because most people who are interested in these cars want the 6 speed.
The counterpoint to this is that it's harder to find a tip car when you want one. I was probably offered five 6 speeds for every tip that I wanted to look at. If you are looking at resale, I'd be very careful about the option packages that you select. Full leather is a big plus, as is the Tech Package. HIDs, PSM, and 18 inch wheels (turbo/sport etc) are worth paying for. I think that 17 inch wheels are a kiss of death. Crested seats/wheels are a plus. The complete leather package everywhere (grills/console etc), like the carbon fibre package, are very desirable but I think you'll take more of a loss on the car as you'll recoupe less of the original option cost. Similarly Nav is desirable, but probably not worth a large premium, etc, etc, etc... These were my thoughts when I tried to find a car and what seemed to be available. Graham
Usually, a Tip car trades in/ resells for $1500-2000 more than a 6spd. New, the Tip option is $3430 now.
