Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It looks like a tiny circlip that controls the clamshell for the Cabriolet top somehow popped off and is lost. I tried Stoddard and they don't stock the part. Any clues as to how to replace? Pic shows the location.

POST 2Original post

My 996 was missing the same circlip when I bought it. I found this clip at the Lowe's Home Improvement Center. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-5-3...-Clips/3012945 . It's 5/32nd's. It's not a perfect fit around the diameter, but really close. It is close enough to hold itself in the clip groove. It's been working in my car now for 2 years. Good luck!

Harbor Freight, might be a few more than you need though, https://www.harborfreight.com/hardwa...ent-67653.html

I bought a variety pack at Amazon for this exact problem. Worked great Clips Clips
