Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

1999, 996 manual coupe. I noticed that in the thick wiring loom on the right hand side at the back that a blue wire and orange wire are broken. Rats may have chewed the black covering and chewed the wires. I don't have a wiring diagram. What do these wires do and where do they go to? I have the following codes. P0327, P0153, P115 and P1119. Could this cause the codes?

POST 2Original post

Yup,looks like rat or mice damage. Not sure what wires those are, but it doesn't really matter as they obviously have to be fixed. Splice in a short piece of some # 16(?) wire with butt connectors, at least for now, and see if your mil turn off... If not try to clear codes and see what comes back... jmo

Thats the main harness from the dme to the engine electronics. Its all important and needs to be repaired.
