Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What is that round piece that's missing? It popped off when the AOS failed. It's on the passenger side of the engine, towards the rear. I've looked in the parts breakdown, can't find what that is. The hole is approx. 50mm inside diameter. I thought it was those little green cam lock covers. Now the cars going to sit until I can get the right part... Part number would help... Thanks! @Porschetech3 @TexSquirrel

Any way of knowing if that's 50 mm inside diameter?

I think he is missing the brown larger one. there are 3 plugs per head 6 in total. 4 greens and 2 browns which also have larger diameter. I believe they cover the intake camshaft bolt.

POST 7Original post

Yep, you ordered the right ones. The M96/03 engines have two big cam lids a four little ones. The two big cam lids are known to pop out if the crankcase pressure gets a little high. TRG ( the Racers Group) had about 6-7 of the 996/997 cars they raced in Koni Series and would come to our shop to prepare for the Porsche 250. They would "Glue" those cam lids in place and also made an aluminum strap to hold them in...lol
