Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

purchased '03, 996 about a year ago, with 44k miles. have put on 10k and enjoyed every mile. it had a very stiff clutch until yesterday. when I started to drive it, the clutch felt much softer, with quite a vibration in it. it still shifts into all gears with no problem, but there is something very different from what I was use to. all comments appreciated! thanks

A long shot but maybe worth it have the brake and clutch fluid flushed/bled. I let my Boxster go just 2.5 years and while the brakes were ok -- no problems -- the clutch action was compromised which also gave me shifting problems. Actually I think the clutch (and brake) fluid flush/bleed should probably come after you have had a tech check out and probably replace something that has failed in your car's clutch. Have the tech try the clutch and advise you. The techs have experienced it all when it comes to clutches and if the problem is deeper than the fluid a tech will be the one to tell you this.
