Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm helping to restore my old bosses '99 aerokit that was originally decked out in carbon fiber which has since been marred pretty badly. I'm having trouble sourcing the new replacement pieces, specifically carbon pieces for the dash that have been scratched up. Any direction as far as where I might be able to find those would be great.

Suncoast advertises the parts. Here's an example. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/9X6CFDAT.html

POST 3Original post

I have several pieces from DB carbon. They are in Germany but send over here relatively quickly. They guarantee their parts. Mine got a little cloudy and they are replacing them! https://shop.db-carbon-interieur.de/en_US https://www.macarbon.com/porsche-299...interior-parts

Its a real shame this stuff cracks and fades so bad. My steering wheel and shift **** are in bad enough shape that i need to replace them with something else. I have a carbon gauge surround i am not using. I dont think it is an original part though.

I have some carbon pieces that im not using. Pm me if interested

POST 6Original post

If the OP isn’t interested in the used carbon fiber pieces, I might be interested if in good condition. Doesn’t have to be perfect, but still decent.

POST 7Original post

Depending on how bad they have yellowed/cracked, it's actually pretty easy to refurbish them.

Hi i just picked an 996.1, what parts are you looking for in carbon fiber? I'm in the process of wrapping my stocks parts in real carbon. My whole door panel, center console, ac vents and Is climate control is starting the process right now. Just located all my spare parts for cheap.

The gist is sanding down the epoxy, but not too far (don't get into the carbon) then recoat with something like West Marine 105. If you do a search on YouTube there are quite a few videos that go into more detail. Here's a random video I found: You Tube This sounds awesome, you should make a thread detailing your progress on this.
