New 996 Mk1 headlight trim design

Hi All, I recently created this headlight trim for the 996 mk1 and wanted to share with the group. I know this forum generally doesn't like the headlight covers that make a 996 look like a 997. Here my goal was to create something subtle that accentuates the existing design and shapes in the 996 headlight design instead of covering over them, kind of like how a Porsche 964 has a color matched ring around the headlight from the factory. Interested to hear the group's thoughts. I painted the headlight ring seal grey and the rest ocean metallic blue to match with the body of the car, but I kind of think I should have went with a matte black ring for more contrast.

I prefer these headlights on the Boxster, but I am might be biases since I own a 2004 996

My own car is a 996 mk2 (the boxster is my brother in law's) so I understand the preference. That said, the 996 mk1 headlight design has it's own charm and, to me, shows influence from the original air cooled porsche headlight design.

Looks good on the 986.

I like it on the Boxster better then the 996 I love my lights on the 996.1
