Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have read through the many, many posts including @AMCPILOT and @Stazza tutorials and videos. In the case of @Stazza it appears he did the fix without removing (?) the bottom pivot plug (as I call it) under the dash. Is that true and has anyone done it that way. If you do not remove it, then aligning how it connects in reassembly (slot of pivot plug to tab of flap) could be tough I assume.. I am at the point of cutting the top cap to remove the top pivot plug and then going to underneath the dash. But yes, between the flakes that are blowing out and now viewing the flap it is obvious that my time so far is not wasted. Mine is a 996.2 Turbo x50.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
