Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am having a problem fueling my car (2001 C4). The gas stations' nozzle does not shut-off fuel flow quick enough when the tank gets full. Two or three cups of fuel spill out of the tank and onto the ground. I am looking for a manual that explains the fuel system, identifies the parts and has nice diagrams. I saw this book for sale, "Porsche 911 Carrera Service Manual. It is by Bentley Publishers. It cost $180 on Pelican parts. Has anyone seen this book or has other books to recommend?

I have the Book and recommend it. They offer web updates.. Not sure it will solve your issue, but as a 12 year 2000 Carrera owner I can confirm refueling is some times messy on my C 4. You should do a search on this as others have issues and have commented. The C 4 has a unique tank structure. I follow a fueling routine - 1st 10 gallons at high flow rate. Then stop wait 10 seconds - rotate filler nozzle about 30 degrees left - start fueling on very low rate. And usually (not always) I can have a full tank without spills. I also have a rubber "Bib" that rolls out over the fender and drains any spill away from my paint. Regards, Jack
