Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with an aftermarket exhaust company out of London, UK called DirectFitExhausts? They appear to manufacture some decent-looking 304 stainless steel 200 cell cat X-pipes and long-tube headers at a good price (in my opinion). They sell on eBay here in the USA. They also have a website: www.DirectFitExhausts.co .UK. The pricing is much better on their website. I am considering pulling the trigger on the X-pipe and long-tube headers for my 2002 996 C2. Let me know what you guys think.

I could be wrong but it looks like a different website selling Top Gear products . Top Gear also sells on eBay and are in the UK . Some folks on this forum like their TG products . Others say they are junk . So hard to get a true recommendation . I am sure others will chime in .

I think that you are correct.

I bought the Top Gear valved exhaust from them off eBay and have been very happy with it. Quality is good and the fitment was right. I didn't use the wireless remote for the valves though -- wired it up myself to the PSE button on the horseshoe. For a short while, I had the Top Gear headers but the fitment wasn't great... one of the pipes hung much lower on the car than OEM, making it easy to scrape... also the welds on the pipes on the ends overlapped where the manifold bolt would be, causing the bolt to want to go in ****-eyed, which is risky and easily could have led to stripping the threads.

I purchased Topgear 200cell cats, not (X-pipe) directly from them. It turned out cheaper than their E-Bay sales? They were a direct fit, but I did get a CEL on them which I have not been able to get to yet. They sound great with my "Fister style" modded mufflers. Also shipping was really fast, like faster than Amazon. Go figure. Hope this helps.

IMO Top Gear is trash. Had 200 Cell cats that clunked out after a couple of years. You get what you pay for.
