Good day all, I was driving my 1999 C4 which I have had for a few months now and have had no issues until suddenly the engine cut off. After trying to restart the car I could hear the fuel pump come on and the engine would crank but not start. After doing a bunch of research all signs pointed to a Fuel Pump Relay issue. However, the next morning I gave it a try and it started up first try no issues. I drove it around for a while and started it again no issues. Has this happened to anyone else? Curious on what could have caused this one off issue. It hasn't happened again since. -Brad

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

First easy thing to check is on the next trying to start and no start check that the tach. needle is bouncing, if not replace the crank position sensor. most times it will not throw a active code.
Thank you for the info, I recall the tach moving when trying to crank so I ruled out CPS however don't remember for certain.
