Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just saw the current issue of Excellence Market Report on the 996 and 997 cars, they have had questionable numbers in the past but does anyone else think they missed the market a bunch this time? Early 1999 cars and cabriolets more $ than coupes? Rich

POST 3Original post

Perhaps they included all the 996 Spyders for the valuations?

What is a 996 Spyder?

POST 5Original post

Exactly. No such thing. Other 9xx models have those Spyder versions with their humpbacks. Those would be the only “cabs” that’d be more valued than the coupe. Next, Excellence will be pricing Tips higher than PDKs.

Since I started restoring them? Nah... wishful thinking.

POST 7Original post

Early build 99s? Makes sense Cabs? Not so much

Cabs are everywhere.

POST 9Original post

First, who cares what those jokers at Excellence think? Second, who cares what others think about YOUR car, it only matters what YOU think. Third, Cabs going for more than Coupes, only in your wildest wet dreams (because you can't get the top to close up)

POST 10Original post

Maybe it has something to do with supply/demand thinking? Quick look at overall production numbers for the 996 show an almost 2:1 ratio for coupes to cabs production. And then when one takes into account attrition through the years. If you want to buy a cab and there are fewer good ones on sale to choose from than scarcity could contribute to market valuation. Ultimately any 996 is only worth what someone is willing to pay for em.

Your entire argument fails right here 😉
