When I shift into 1st, 3rd and 5th and reverse the car will not go into gear and it feels as if its in neutral. 2nd, 4th and 6th are fine. Is this a cable problem?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Look under the car where the cables connect to the transmission, sounds like one of the cable housings pulled out of its holder (not uncommon). You can put it back where it belongs and zip tie it down as a temporary solution. if you search the forums there are a few posts with pictures.. -Eric
