Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My daily driver was getting a lot of rock chips. So I went with some vinyl on my frunk. It's a 2000 C2. I like how well it goes with our sweet head lights.

POST 2Original post

Looks like a hood from a different car. But as long as you like it, that's all that matters.

very smooth, I saw what you did there

POST 9Original post

Hey it's not a bad look, kinda like a track Porsche , plus easily removed when the time comes

POST 10Original post

What's the actual color? Looks like applied a filter to the photo.

Maybe he can start a reverse Panda fad(reverse of black hood with light car).

POST 12Original post

The vinyl itself looks fine, but the effect isn't awesome. The strip of bumper between the lower lobes of the headlights doesn't help - in fact, I think that's what makes this look so off. Bummer, as I'm trying to figure out what to do with my hood as well. I had wondered what this would look like (but not enough to google it or 'chop it for myself).

I would just park this car until you can restore it properly.

POST 15Original post

If the love doesn't last...it's easy to peel off. Easier than painting.

POST 16Original post

To me that looks like you got a hood off a silver car and got either too cheap or too lazy to get it painted. Maybe if you go the carbon fiber look wrap it will look better.

POST 17Original post

Personally, I never cared for the contrasting hood color look, even if it's carbon fiber. Always looks like a cheap repair to me. But, I'll repeat Alpo's comment: as long as you like it, that's all that matters. Also, you should straighten that bent license plate. I think I see the Loch Ness Monster behind you rising up out of that lake. [Rough crowd here]

POST 19Original post

I did the same thing a couple of years ago, and when we removed it a couple of months ago, it was really difficult removing it even with a heat gun I liked the look so much, I had fresh vinyl to replace it.

You'd park it either way, so this advice is suspect.
