Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Part # 996.610.168.01. 996.610.168.01 I'm putting my console back on - and off - and on - and off and so on after doing an ashtray delete and installing a Numeric Shifter. For reasons, the job (and all the others I found on the car) wound up taking much longer than expected and I forgot all about this piece until I saw in the shadows on the black carpet. It's been so long since I took off the console, I can't remember what it is or where it went and nothing pops out when eyeballing it. FCP says it's no longer available but no diagram. AutoAtlanta or Porsche Classic doesn't show it in any diagram either. Does anyone know what it is and where it goes? Thanks in advance..

POST 2Original post

It goes on top of the shifter cable ends on top of the shifter console. It is upside down in your picture. It's not even listed in the PET:

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks - no wonder I couldn't find it. I'll be glad to finally get this part of the job finished.
