I have a 2004 996 C4S and I'd like to know if the wiring harness is the same as the 996 turbo? Basically, I want to add a manual spoiler control switch to my dash and I'm hoping the same wiring harness as the turbo will make it plug and play. Ok, optimistic but worth asking IMO.

You have a manual spoiler switch by your left foot.

A bit inconvenient, perhaps. I'm also looking to install the dashboard switch. I don't recall if there's an unused harness behind the horseshoe but I've seen some guys relocate the wiring from the left kick panel to the horseshoe to wire the dash switch. Haven't reviewed these in detail yet, but I found a few tutorials: https://www.renntech.org/tutorials/a...il-switch-mod/ You Tube

Hah, theres also one by my right foot!
Ordered my horseshoe switch tonight. Install inbound.
I never drive under 77 mph so my spoiler is always deployed....
I guess I really wanted to do the least amount of disassembly and wiring. Knowing the C4S is "like" the Turbo except for the engine and some other ancillary pieces, I was hoping the dash included the wiring for the spoiler switch. If not, I think I'd rather just tap off the factory switch lines and add an additional switch in the dash. The wiring obviously isn't challenging unless introducing another switch might preclude the other one from working? And yes, I'm aware of the switch in the driver's footwell.
Where would I purchase such an item? My initial searching came up with $50-65 options.

I bought mine from Gaudin a year ago for ~$30.00. Part number 99661315510a05.
Or you could just put one of these on.
