While replacing the cowl I noticed this tiny tube laying in the battery box. It has a plastic fitting on the end like it's supposed to be pushed in somewhere. Any ideas? It's coming from the passenger fender well.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Battery vent tube. If you have the proper type battery, there will be a vent hole at the upper edge of the side. Hard to tell from your picture, but that MIGHT be the vent opening, just adjacent to the green sticker on the battery
That's the battery overflow. Back when our cars were new the original battery had a "overflow" port. The battery in my car still has it.

Depends on how the battery was treated. If treated well, it can last 5-7 years or more.
