Evening, My trickle charger seems to have failed, I was wondering whether some of you would have one and/or either knew what would be the resistors resistance (color rings usually giving the value in ohms) of the 2 that are circle in red in the attached picture as they seems to have burnt down. I perfectly know that the root cause might trigger them to burn again of course but willing to take that risk as resistor cost close to nothing whilst a new charger cost $100 ;-) And I need one as my 996 sleeps outside in winter and I live in Montreal Canada with -20C ( -4F ) for a good 2 months at the very least and definitely -10C (14F) for 3-4 months. And for sure, even if I drive it in winter on a regular basis, the battery appreciates the trickle charge ;-) Following very common sense comment, here are the reference of this item ;-) Thanks @DDzPorsche !! So this trickle charger is the standard model for a Porsche 996 (Part Number 980 611 981 00): Porsche Original - Teife - Genuine Part Charge-o-mat 980 611 981 00 Input: 120V-AC / 60Hz / 132ma / 15V A Output: 12V-DC / 500mA Type FW 1288 Made in Germany Class 2 Battery Charger Showing what it looks like with the cable and the connector as not a typical trickle charger with leads to the battery:

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There is no way I can read the bands from this picture. At the very least you should list the brand and model of the charger and perhaps someone who has one will open the cover to expose the non damaged components for identification. Did you short the output leads from the charger to cause this?
I did not do anything special, no shorting the output leads as it does not have leads, it is a permanent Cigaret Lighter connector.
I'll go one better. I have one you can have for the shipping cost. PM me if interested.
