Device2 blessed me with a bra, part #706 520 03, 40 year anniversary bra. Problem is it's for a 99-01. But... Then I purchased a brand new 503 996 10 off fleabay, fits perfect! But, I like the hood piece from the first bra, so I combined them! I love it! Thanks device2! 503 996 10 from fleabay... hood piece from the 40 anniversary from device2

Honestly I think that looks awful and I don't know why anyone would use one. They are notorious for buffeting against the paint and causing damage. An application of clear PPF would do more to protect the paint and not ruin the appearance of the car. To me, this is the equivalent of spending top dollar for a beautiful supple leather couch then wrapping it in old garbage bags to protect it. If it's a style that you enjoy, then well done, but unless you routinely drive across country in a gravel truck flat towing your 911 behind it, I would remove it.

Well, we're all entitled to an opinion... To me it's way more "period correct". Clear protectant bras hadn't become popular yet in 03.

Agree. Had one one my 911SC and it scuffed the paint up real bad...

POST 5Original post

I also had one for my Z28 back in the 80s. Messed the paint up from dirt embedding in the bra liner. OP, if you like it.. more power to you. Not my cup of tea. But I guess if you're trying to protect the car from viruses, this is a perfect time for a car mask.

POST 6Original post

Not a fan of the look and as others have stated, it will mess up the paint. Been there done that!

POST 7Original post

I have the original porsche mirror bras on my 996 and love them . I like this front bra as well, never seen the 996.2 one before , looks good !

POST 8Original post

That color and the work you have put into it is too nice to cover...

POST 9Original post

No a fan but I didnt like them back when they were in style. However if you like it thats all that matters. And its not a bra its a BRO

👆 doesnt help that its not even for the correct part for a .2

POST 14Original post

Why cover up those iconic and beautiful headlights!?

POST 15Original post

Opinion on look aside, it will damage the paint under the bra. The leading edges will scuff the paint off and underneath will discolor due to trapped moisture. I had one on my red 944 for a while until I noticed the front panel between the headlights was ruined.

POST 16Original post

Sorry but that looks terrible. They looked bad in the 80's and they look bad now!

POST 17Original post

I like it alright. id rather go for a clear xpel wrap but it looks fine imho.

POST 18Original post

That looks like something you would install to protect the finish while you are working on the car, or while in storage. I can't imagine driving around with that on. Does it flap around in the wind?

POST 19Original post

Period correct is not the purpose of a bra. Its to protect your paint. those old fashioned bras had many draw backs. No matter how good the initial fit, they stretch and start flopping around causing paint damage. You cannot keep them on after washing or being caught in the rain cause the moisture get trapped in there again causing paint damage. But if you want to keep removing and reinstalling all the time, go for it. No offense, just saying. We all had them back them but were a PITA. Modern clear bras are the way to go for the intended purpose.

POST 20Original post

My opinion is that it looks ridiculous, no offense. And since it also damages the paint, which is ironic, there is no point for me. I do really like the 40yr emblem. But, whatever, to each his own and there's no acccounting for taste, yours or mine. Nice car BTW

POST 21Original post

Since you are asking for opinions I will give you mine. However before I do I want you to realize I am OCD with my cars and to give you a feel how bad...I do not use car covers (even though I have them for all my cars) unless they were just washed and thoroughly dried. At that point it has to go on immediately otherwise I leave it bare. Why? because the thought of even one spec of dust under the cover rubbing away the paint (that;s right I have vivid imagination) makes me go nuts and that is in a garage with a static environment. As others have said I could not imagine a speck of dust under the cover or even moisture with the endless buffeting....my engineering background just makes me think of sand paper. So now my opinion on your cover. Get rid of it! Your car is way to nice to take any risk of sandpaper to its surface. If you really want to protect the paint, all of my cars that I either track or daily drive have Xpel on almost every surface, and even then I don't cover it unless I just chamoisied the surface. The only time I would even consider that bra is right after a snowstorm when roads are sanded and then take it off the minute you get home.
