I found out that the resonance flap wasnt activated properly on my 996 C2 2002 so I sent the ecu to Bosch in Germany for diagnosis. They said they just tested it and couldnt find anything wrong with it. when I put the ecu back in my car I got fault indicator accompanied with a flash in the dash display when I turned the starter key. . The starter engine is not activated when I turn the key. what can be a possible reason for this?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I now know the answer. One of the pins (one single pin) in one of the connectors to the ECU was bent. Bosch kind of blamed me but agreed to split the cost of repairing it in half. I doubt that I managed to bend one pin in the connector but ok, now it works. Robert
