Hello, I'm new here as I'm on a quest to get into an affordable 996/997 coupe in good condition around the Dallas area. I participated in the Porshe Road Show event and have been bitten by the 911 bug. I narrowed in on a 1999 model but it received a poor report on a local PPI (water pump, plus number cam readings, dent repairs, flywheel noise, and a bunch of other stuff) Best $250 I ever spent. Now I'm focusing on a 2001 model which leaps and bounds quieter and smoother than the first one. This one has a few small problems and I'm considering another PPI. Just sharing my little story as a way of introducing myself to the group. We have ALWAYS been a loyal Bimmer family and we are still driving my E28 I bought new in 1884. Mark
